My First Photo Shoot

Yesterday I had my first photo shoot for someone to whom I am not related. One of my friends is expecting a baby in July and she was kind enough to let me take some pictures of her for my portfolio. While it wasn’t exactly what I expected, I think the shots turned out all right. I’ll post them here and if you’d like to offer some feedback, I’d love to hear it. Good or bad. I won’t learn as much without it! Fire Away!

My personal favorites are the ones with the bow. Those turned out almost exactly as I imagined they would!

In other news, Iain has captured a caterpillar and is now holding him hostage keeping him as a pet. I tried to explain that we’re keeping him from his destiny of becoming a butterfly but I’m not sure if that makes any difference. They’re just excited to have one as a pet. 🙂

Hope all is well in your world!

    Hi Evie,

I left a comment earlier but it doesn’t seem to have saved.

Anyhow – I think your pics are great, and like the other ladies, just LOVE the bows! I also wish that I had looked that good when I was pregnant all those years ago!

    cheers,

Cate, seriously I wished I had looked that good, too! Those are not maternity shorts she’s wearing!! Stinker. I don’t know why your comment didn’t save earlier. Blogger has trouble with that sometimes.

Jill, thank you for your comment! I wish I could take credit for the bow pose but I saw someone else do it on Flickr and thought it was too flippin’ cute for words.

    Deeg,

Thank you! You’ll do great with your photos, too, I have no doubt. You’ll have to post some on your blog so we can see! Do you have a flickr account?

I wish Iain better luck than my daughter. She rescued a caterpillar from boy about to squish it on Thursday. We got on the Internet and made it a habitat but sadly Stardust passed away Saturday night. She feels she did the right thing rescuing her though she wishes she had let it go in our yard.

I finally convinced Iain to let it go by asking him if he would like it if someone picked him up and stored him in a glad sandwich container and threw in some Cheetos once in a while. He was sad at first but he would have been devastated if it had died in the container.

I’m sorry to hear that your daughter’s caterpillar died but it’s like you said, at least Stardust wasn’t squished by some bully!

    Hi Evie,

I just wanted to pop in here to comment. I commented on individual pictures at FLickr but I couldn’t see the pics here on the day you posted them for some reason. I just didn’t want you to think that I had forgotten about you. As usual your pics are gorgeous. I love the bow in color but I like the one on Flickr that is b & w too.

PLease make me feel better about myself by telling me this is her first baby! 🙂

Marin, I wish I could tell you that but it’s her second baby. She’s just naturally fit and gorgeous. And she’s really nice, too! Her son is friends with Iain.

Hey, Sheri! It was the shoot itself that didn’t happen the way I thought it would but I really just didn’t know what to expect. The first pic is actually my favorite.

We also stumbled upon a goose sitting on her nest and she defended it, which was a little scary! LOL It set the tone for me, catching me off guard and making me feel a little frazzled!

How can those not be maternity shorts?!?!?! I figured they were the hidden panel/band kind that puts the stretch thing in the back. No?

I love these photos So much I want to get some of me before I burst. 🙂

    Absolutely beautiful.

    RIGHT???

What the hell?? I was totally teasing her about still wearing regular shorts.

If you lived here, I would take some for you! Why don’t you get your hubby to do it? You guys could have fun with that. You could get some sweet shots of Lil Bug’s cheek on your tummy, or her kissing your tummy.

You should do it and post them on your blog!!!

He was misdiagnosed by the first vet we used here and that led to a situation where the treatment almost seemed worse than the disease. Thankfully, @lawndale_vet helped us navigate that situation and they have nursed this big boy back to a much happier place. We still are uncertain about how much time we have left with him but, for now, he is the happiest we have seen him in a long time. I am so thankful to the staff at Lawndale for, not only providing great medical care, but for loving on him and making him feel like the best boy ever at each appointment. ❤️❤️❤️

We got the first one healed and then he got one on his other paw. Then that one got better but his paw pads got rubbed raw by the protective boot he was in and now are infected. Fingers crossed that this cone helps keep him from licking it so he can heal. Until then, Bowie is going to be a very sad boy, indeed. 😢
