This week’s theme by Mama Podkayne is “Delight”. I wasn’t able to find one photograph that perfectly captured that description so instead, I’ve taken a little license and am devoting this whole post to the delight we have found around here lately.
First, the boys found a face painting kit in the playroom yesterday and were delighted to discover we could paint mustaches on their little faces. POOF! Instant Mario and Mario.
Also while running errands yesterday we bought the necessary materials to finish a project called “hero Shirts”. The boys were delighted that I said “Yes” to making them yesterday afternoon.
Speed Genius – he can solve problems at the speed of light.
Here’s the detail on his shirt:
Then his partner in fighting crime – Strong Man! He’s really, really strong y’all.
Shoot, he looks like he’s going to kick my b-u-t-t. You can still see a little of his Mario stache.
And yes, I do know that I didn’t sew his emblem directly in the middle. I’m no seamstress, okay?? The boys designed their emblems themselves, I just sewed them on. Didn’t they turn out great! The designs I mean.
Then, there was the delight Sean and I experienced last night as we sat down to eat and the boys sat at the table with us, creating their own comic books!
And the delight I experienced when I saw our puppy, Lily, snuggled up on the dog bed I just bought for her. I was worried she wouldn’t use it.
It was a day full of delight and thanks to Mama Podkayne for the theme that helped me look for it!

Great pictures! I love the mustaches, and the T-shirts. My son would love both! And creating a comic book sounds fun too. Cute puppy picture! What kind of dog is she?

Hero shirts… great idea.
I’ll have to run that one past my 7yr. old- Owen.
I have a feeling he might like something to do with being fond of computers!
You take amazing photos.

I think Trev would like the shirt, too.
He’s been talking (for the first time) of superheros and last couple of days.
He says that he has the DNA of all superheroes. Imagine that! 🙂
I’ll run it by him.
THanks for the idea!

tara,
thanks for your comment! Mine love super heroes, pokemon, and the like. I’d love to see what your son comes up with!
Steph,
I bet Trev would like it. The DNA of all superheroes?! Wow, now that’s really something. With great power comes great responsibility. 🙂 lol

Hmmm, I commented yesterday, but I got in a hurry and probably messed something up.
Those mustaches kill me. Love them! And the t-shirts are fantastic! You did a great job sewing on those patches! The boys came up with a great design too.
