So last night Ryan wanted to make the gingerbread houses. I think it was really because he was tired of me telling him he couldn’t eat any of that candy until we’d made our houses but that’s neither here nor there. We had fun! The last time I tried one of these the results were disastrous but last night, things turned out great!
The dining room looked like this earlier in the day:
Later it looked like this:
The boys were great. Initially, Sean was partnered up with Iain and I was with Ryan but eventually, Sean went and laid down on the sofa (not feeling well) so Iain and Ryan worked together. It was so sweet! Ryan would come up with an idea and Iain would say, “Ryan, that’s a great idea! I totally support that.” Cracked. Me. Up. Ryan would encourage Iain too by emphatically running around giving the thumbs up, “Oh yeah, uh-huh, that’s GREAT Iain!”
Here they are collaborating and eating as much candy as they can.
Here are a couple of shots of their beautiful house. Man, I wonder what they would have come up with if they didn’t have a Wii? Sorry, that was naughty…. 🙂
Here is a shot of the one that Ryan and I did together. He came up with most of the ideas on the house.
Eventually, Ryan was so hopped up on sugar that he left Iain and me to finish the work. It was nice. Iain kept right on working and snacking:
Then he was finished and ready to pose with his masterpiece:
I refused to clean up until today and was pleasantly surprised at how little time it took to get it done. What fun we all had together!
Onto other topics, my surgery has been scheduled for February 5th, 2 days before my 10th wedding anniversary. LOL Oh well, at least I get to spend Christmas on my feet and not in agony! Thanks to all who’ve offered your kind words of encouragement. You guys are the BEST! 🙂

LOL Why don’t you make one out of rice krispy treats? My sister watched Rachael Ray do that on her show the other day. I am not planning on eating any of these but I sure could tear up a Rice Krispy house!!
