Man. It seems like I look down for a moment on Monday and then look back up again a moment later and its Friday. Really freaking crazy how fast the time goes by when you’re not looking. This week has been Mario Kart Week. Iain got the version for the Wii on Wednesday and has been playing almost non-stop if we’re home. I must admit. The game is a whole lot of fun so I can’t say that I blame him. He has done really well on it, too! He likes to get online and find out the unlockable characters and then play and play and play until he unlocks as many of them as he can. I’ve been impressed with his stick-to-it-ness.
Monday, we had a kid mosh with our friends Jamey and Conor and the boys really enjoyed that. They have a lot in common so it’s fun for them to get together. I enjoy the visits, too. 🙂
Thursday, Ryan went over to a friends house to play and was there for four hours!! He had a ball. Iain and I went to Target and picked up some odds and ends for my business and then came home and he played the Wii. I have been spending the last couple of days mired down in business strategizing.
You know what’s funny? I thought, “Well, I’m going to put my name out there and start taking pictures,” without a thought in the world about COGS, marketing, pricing myself and that’s ALL I’ve been doing this week! Sean told me I needed to take a break last night because I thought I was going to lose my mind. What so hard is, I don’t want to be cheap. I think I’m talented enough to ask more than Sears would. I don’t want to be too expensive either because I might not get any business. What I’ve been doing is trying to find that happy medium and it’s not been a happy time. LOL! Oh well, it will all work out.
Today my sister and I went to Costco and my mom watched the kids for us. When we got back, I took a few photos.
Good grief. My kids are so over me and my camera.
Iain is posing with his new favorite possession, Mario Kart Wii. I think it’s important to note that he traded in a bunch of games so he could get it. He traded in $96 worth. Can you believe it?
And here is my mom and my niece. Y’all. My mom is 58. Doesn’t she look amazing? I didn’t retouch her skin at all. Thank god for those genes. LOL My mom is doing So well. She hasn’t had a drink in I don’t know how long and she is just so much fun to be around. When we all go to Disney World in September, we’re going to have So much fun! I can’t wait!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Wow! My mom looks awesome for 50 but your mom looks stinking incredible for 58!! And those are a bunch of cute kids.
Mario Kart Wii is one of the only games I’ve played by myself when DH isn’t home. Totally addictive!

This is a happy post! Your mom does look fantastic, and kudos to her for not drinking. I know what a challenge that is, as we’re going though it here as well. Yay for her!
Do charge enough for your work. Here’s something to consider – if something is too cheap, it screams “shoddy work.” I know the trend these days is low-cost everything (and don’t EVEN get me started), but now more than ever we seek quality, as it’s so hard to come by. I know the biggest trick is for artists to feel worthy of charging an actual living wage. Just do it.
We just found out Brady’s guitar teacher is a professional photographer – here’s his site: jvgphoto.com.
