So as many of you may remember, I sent my computer off to Apple because the case had cracked. It cracked within a month of owning it and when we drove an hour to the nearest Apple store in August, the gentleman in the store acknowledged that it’s a quality issue that has come up with my version of MacBook and he opened a ticket for repair. I had to wait until I got a hard drive and could back up all the pictures and data on my computer which didn’t happen until the holidays. So we sent it off on Thursday with high hopes. Well, after waiting all weekend, my computer arrived here this morning and guess what I saw when I pulled it out of the box?
Do you see that crack? It goes all the way across the front. The didn’t fix it. WTF? I almost burst into tears but thankfully I was on the phone with Sean and immediately he flew into action. He’s on the case so I’m going to try not to freak out but I mean, come on!! Ridiculous.
Anyway, I’d like to update you guys with all the goings on ’round here this weekend. Saturday morning we had a plan. We were going to get up early and take all of our Christmas decorations to our storage unit as well as any other misc stuff that has been cluttering up the house. Just so you know, usually what happens after I go to sleep is the puppy wakes me up anytime between 4 and 6am so I go downstairs and let her out after which she and I snuggle on the sofa and sleep for another hour and a half or so. This is a regular occurance and I don’t mind. She’s very snuggly. Well, sometimes while I’m sleeping downstairs with the furry puppy, the human pups sneak into bed with Sean.
Don’t they look sweet? Don’t they look peaceful? We can’t have that now, can we? I try and try in vain to wake them up but all three could sleep next to a roaring freight train and not stir a muscle so desperate measures are called for: Operation Lily.
She pounces onto the bed with reckless abandon and affection, mercilessly licking anyone in her path. Hey, I warned them to get up but they just didn’t listen. 🙂
Once everyone was up and fed, we loaded up the car. Iain helped Ryan get his shoes tied.
So sweet.
Then we headed over to the storage unit where I attempted to get artsy with my camera.
I tried, what can I say?
After that, the boys and I went over to my parents to return a crib we had borrowed while babysitting my niece last year. When we got there, my dad seemed fine. There was no warning of the explosion we were about to experience. I’m not going to get into it because the details don’t matter but he was an asshole to me and to Ryan so we immediately picked up and left. I knew it was bad because my mom kept apologizing. I didn’t want to take them back home on such a sour note so we headed over to the park of my childhood, the one where we played tennis Charlotte last week, and we had FUN!
We walked on the trail and headed down towards a bridge under which I spent countless hours with my sister and our friends playing in the creek. This water was gross then and it’s certainly not any better but I let the boys explore the sandy banks nonetheless. They had such a wonderful time!
Wait, those shoes cost $54! Please be careful! LOL I really didn’t say anything about it but that thought did run through my mind later. You know, a “what was I thinking” kind of thing.
It was a beautiful day, in spite of the ugliness we encountered at my parent’s house. The rest of the weekend went well from there. We ate dinner with my sister and BIL, watched a movie and just laughed our butts off basically. Today’s incident with my computer brought me to the abrupt realization that the weekend is indeed over. I’ve got to go to the store and pick up some things but other than that, the boys and I are just going to chill out.
How was your weekend? Man, I missed having my computer! It felt weird being out of touch with everyone!

Sorry you guys had a bad experience with your dad. It sounds like the rest of the weekend was cool. I love the pic of Iain helping Ryan with his shoes.
We are looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Great pictures! What kind of puppy do you have.
I am sorry about what happened with your dad. I’ve had many moments like that with mine!
Glad you were able to salvage the day, and the weekend!

Hey Stacie! We have a German Shorthaired Pointer. She is high energy but incredibly sweet and loving.
Thanks for your comment! Please come back and visit!

Oh Evie, I’m so sorry to hear about your dad. Great job not letting it ruin your whole weekend.
Great photos! I happen to really love the artsy one. The angle, the orange doors, the green trees, and the dark asphalt really appeals to me.

I’m sorry bout your dad.
On a lighter note – Trev said to me today “Grammy (my mother) says our house is tacky, is it?”
“What?!? No, I don’t think so. What?”
“Well, when I broke that thing, she said “you broke this, and you broke that table, and I don’t want my house to be tacky like your mom’s!!”
I was pretty pissed, I don’t mind telling you. 🙂 And for the record, my house is NOT tacky. Thank you very much.
“The next time Grammy says something like that – you tell her “My mom believes that children should feel loved and cherished!!!”
Hmmph.
Jackass. 🙂
(I’m over it, by the way. I’ve said really stupid things too, when I’ve been really frustrated.)

Steph and Carri,
Thanks for your sympathy re: dad.
Carri,
I’m glad you liked that photo of the storage unit. I dig it, too. I was going for something different when I did it but it turned out ok anyway!
Steph,
Man, parents can be brutal! I’m sorry your mom said that to Trev although I know you’re over it. That’s what gets me. Say what you will to me, I’m an adult and can defend myself but don’t say things to my kids or else I will get medieval on your ass. My mom says stuff like that to my kids, too, but usually about my sister’s house. They tell my sister who does a good job of not reacting to it.
It’s a good thing that we all have each other through this blogworld of ours, and that we can support each other when we need it.
Thanks to both of you again!

Sorry about your parent incident. That sucks, especially that it happened in front of the kids.
I’m glad that you salvaged the day. I love creeks. They are perfect, open ended, just perfect. Even when wearing 54.00 shoes!
I loved your photos, always do. I thought the art one was a ladder at first, neat.
Sorry about your comp, why the hell didn’t they fix it, morons…
