Do you have a space in your home that is devoted to something just for you? It doesn’t need to be a whole room, just a space that can be where you are free to be creative, do some work, do some reading, something that is all yours. Well, recently, I worked on creating a space like that in our home. See, I live with my husband and our two sons so there isn’t a lot of opportunity for me to decorate with pink or frilly things, which I admittedly would love to do somewhere. So I took over our extra bedroom and repurposed it as my craft room/office. It isn’t quite done yet but I am SO HAPPY with where it is today versus where it was when I started this project. Here are photos of the room before:
You can see that there was a lot to be done because this room had become a magnet for anything in our house that didn’t have a true place. The first couple of days working on my space was just sorting and throwing away lots and lots of things. It’s amazing how much stuff you can accumulate and it boggled my mind when I saw some of the things I had been holding onto for some unknown reason. Once the room was cleared of all the junk, I started thinking about how I wanted to use the space and what kinds of things I wanted to surround myself with so I started pinning things to my “Craft Room” board on Pinterest. Don’t you just love Pinterest?? Anyway, it was then that I was able to really get a feel for what I wanted in my space and little by little it started coming together. I will post the AFTER version in my next post so you will have to come back and see how it turned out!! I am really happy with it and feel so at peace every time I walk by it and especially when I go in to work on a project.
