My Interview with the Radio Mom

Last week I mentioned to you that Kemi Ingram, the Radio Mom, had contacted me for an interview regarding unschooling. Well we did the interview last Thursday and it’s now available for your listening pleasure here. I was pretty nervous during the interview and hopefully you will feel that I accurately described unschooling. It was a lot of fun! Painful for me to listen to myself today but Kemi is very nice and seems to talk about a lot of important topics on her show. Please go by and check it out. You can find out more about her at www.theradiomom.com.

Please let me know what you thought about the interview and be as kind as possible with any criticism!

    Evie!

You sounded great. I couldn’t tell that you were nervous at all. I thought you gave a good description of unschooling. I really liked how you talked about your boys and said that you know them really well. That was sweet.

Thanks, Marin! When I listened to it all I could do was be critical of myself so it’s nice to hear another perspective.

    that was wonderful!!!!

First…your accent made me miss all my Atlanta friends from when I lived out there.

Second…you sounded so confident and joyful about what you spoke on.

Third…I loved everything you had to say about unschooling.

I think you were fabulous and brave to go on the radio mom show! Did she find you through the article in the paper?

If I weren’t already an unschooler, and I’d listened to that interview, I’d want to be one now. 🙂

LOL I wondered how much of an accent I had! Even in the interview I can’t hear it! When were you in Atlanta, we used to live there, too.

Thanks for your comments, Tiffani. Your kind words really mean a lot. Kemi, The Radio Mom, is a member of Always Unschooled and there was a link there to the newspaper article. I’m a member of that group as well so she just emailed me and invited me to do it. Frankly I was hesitant to do it because I was thinking, “Who am I to discuss this topic? I’m certainly not an expert like Sandra Dodd.” And I worried about what she might think if I described something wrong. Sandra can be a pretty tough critic. But I decided to go ahead and do and just prayed that I didn’t sound like a babbling moron and say, ya know, right, um, or anything like that a million times!

Your comments and Marin’s too have made me feel a lot less nervous about sharing it with people.

    Thank you!

Hey there – I just listened to it while I washed dishes! It was great, I thought you sounded very calm and confident and gave a very good synopsis of unschooling. You could hear the love for your boyz, that’s for sure! That’s awesome that you got to do it! Bravo!

He was misdiagnosed by the first vet we used here and that led to a situation where the treatment almost seemed worse than the disease. Thankfully, @lawndale_vet helped us navigate that situation and they have nursed this big boy back to a much happier place. We still are uncertain about how much time we have left with him but, for now, he is the happiest we have seen him in a long time. I am so thankful to the staff at Lawndale for, not only providing great medical care, but for loving on him and making him feel like the best boy ever at each appointment. ❤️❤️❤️

We got the first one healed and then he got one on his other paw. Then that one got better but his paw pads got rubbed raw by the protective boot he was in and now are infected. Fingers crossed that this cone helps keep him from licking it so he can heal. Until then, Bowie is going to be a very sad boy, indeed. 😢
