Snow Day? Well, that’s what we call it here.

We got snow last night.

No, really. There’s snow there, you just have to look very closely. It was so unimpressive to the boys that they went from, “Wake me up at 7am!” to “Can I sleep just a little longer?”. Yeah, it was THAT good. I was the only one who got out in it and took these pictures of the ice glaze covering the branches of our trees.

It’s really hard for the weather forecasters to get a snow forecast right here. They were calling for 2″ and we got a dusting. Oh well!

Mama Podkayne is doing another photo theme this week- Connection – and I’m hoping to have my entry tomorrow. My computer went back to Apple for repair and should be back in my hot little hands tomorrow. Here’s hoping they actually repaired it this time. LOL

Some exciting news…Sean got accepted to Indiana University’s MBA program! He’s really excited and a little anxious about starting. We’re going to do everything we can to make his transition back to school as smooth as possible. I’m so happy for him!

Of course attached to every silver lining is a gray cloud and ours is this. There is a function he is required to attend for school and the timing is terrible- February 10-15th. I’m having surgery on the 7th so I’ve been scrambling to find some folks to stay with me for at least one or two nights while he’s gone. If it weren’t for the dogs then I could go stay at someone’s house but my mom has very kindly agreed to stay with me as needed. My sister and her husband are literally around the corner, too, so if I need anything I can just holler.

I was looking through some old photos today, on Sean’s computer, and found this one of the boys when they were much smaller:

Look at those smushy faces! Ryan was 6 months old and Iain was 3 in that picture. Compare that to them today:

Oh man, I just can’t believe how fast the time has gone by. I remember those days like they were yesterday. Not that I would go back but I do wish I knew then what I know now and that I had been a gentler parent.

Today, the boys and I watched the movie, Underdog, and it was all right. Not my fave but the boys like it and have seen it at least five times by now. Last weekend I bought the movie, Big Trouble in Little China, and I can’t wait for the boys to see that! It just seems like something they would really like. It’s corny and cheesy but so much fun!

Not sure what we’re doing tomorrow but I sure would like to get out of the house. It feels like we’ve been cooped up for days, it’s only been two, but I feel stir crazy!

« Whoa, it’s only Wednesday??

Congratulations to Sean! This is an online school, right?

All we got here was rain; not even a beautiful icy branches.

Iain and Ryan were so cute (they still are, of course, but it is fun to see what they used to look like). Ryan sure looked a lot like you when he was little.

I would be happy to come and hang with you one of those days or nights if you need help.

We got some snow too! The kids were able to scrape up enough to fill the freezer with snowballs.

    Congrats to Sean!

He was misdiagnosed by the first vet we used here and that led to a situation where the treatment almost seemed worse than the disease. Thankfully, @lawndale_vet helped us navigate that situation and they have nursed this big boy back to a much happier place. We still are uncertain about how much time we have left with him but, for now, he is the happiest we have seen him in a long time. I am so thankful to the staff at Lawndale for, not only providing great medical care, but for loving on him and making him feel like the best boy ever at each appointment. ❤️❤️❤️

We got the first one healed and then he got one on his other paw. Then that one got better but his paw pads got rubbed raw by the protective boot he was in and now are infected. Fingers crossed that this cone helps keep him from licking it so he can heal. Until then, Bowie is going to be a very sad boy, indeed. 😢

My sweet friend @tlventura made it for me and it’s one of two fall decorations I kept when we moved. Hope you’re having an awesome day wherever you are, friends!! ❤️❤️❤️
