We just got back from a glorious 5-day vacation in Disney World which truly is the most fun place on Earth. We stayed at the Polynesian Resort hotel and had a gorgeous room with an amazing view:
We could see the castle and the fireworks from our room and it was absolutely amazing! There were only a couple of hiccups in our trip, both related to my health, but all in all, we had a wonderful time. It would take me five days to recount each and every thing we did so I won’t bore you with the details but if you’d like to see the photos we took, follow this link:
I have about 400 photos to go through so it’s going to take a day or so to get it all done but it will be done by Wednesday. If you ever get the chance to go to Disney, please do it. It is so much fun and the joy on your child’s face is enough to bring tears to your eyes. It did mine many, many times. Our favorite park was Magic Kingdom. Our least favorite was Animal Kingdom. There is some incredible video of Iain that I’m going to try and post before Wednesday, too, so please come back and check it out. It involves Star Wars…I don’t want to give anything away.
I hope all of you had a good week. I missed having an internet connection and being able to stay in touch with everyone as I had planned. For some reason, we just couldn’t get the connection to work but that worked out ok. Well, except I paid some bills late but other than that it was ok!
It was great to get back home and sleep in my own bed, but not so great to not have a housekeeping team to clean my house. Think they might make a special trip to help a girl out post-surgery? Hmmm. I don’t think that’s on the Disney plan.
Still gearing up here for the big event on Thursday. I had a doctor’s appointment last week and apparently I have a bladder infection. I didn’t have any indication that anything like that was going on so I was surprised to get home and hear a voice mail telling me to start antibiotics ASAP. I was sick with gastrointestinal problems in Disney and then I find out I have a bladder infection, too. It’s just crazy! I lost 5 pounds on my vacation y’all and didn’t get to enjoy much food. Oh well, we had fun anyway.
This was a rambling post and I’m sorry about that. I have been away for so long, I feel like I’ve got to get my blogging legs back. Bear with me, people!

Welcome back. I’m glad to hear you had such a great time. We’ve never been to Disney, but my sister just got back. She and her husband and daughter had a great time. We plan to go someday.
What kind of health problems do you have?
whimsigal says
Hey Stacie! Were your sister and I there at the same time??
I didn’t mean to imply that I have some kind of ongoing health problem. I was suffering from a horrendous headache for the days leading up to the trip and then into our first day there. Then on Friday, something I ate didn’t agree with me and I was sick all night Friday and all day Saturday. I missed going into the park on Saturday because of that. Nothing chronic, just bad luck!!
Sorry for the bad wording on my part!

No, my sister was there for the first week in January. Maybe your wording was fine and I just misunderstood it. 🙂

And no one makes cute little critters out of folded washcloths on my bed at home, either. I hear ya on having someone clean your room every day! We did Disney a few years ago. We’ll be going to FL in March, trying to decide if we’ll do Disney or not, or just Busch Gardens and NASA.
Yikes on the infection – fingers crossed all systems are ‘go’ for Thursday! No pun intended. *snort*
Oh, and WELCOME BACK! You were missed.

ooooh. first week of January! I bet they had the park to themselves!

Grrrl-friend!!!
Someone working in the lobby made an elephant and an octopus out of washcloths and gave them to the kids. It was impressive considering I struggle just to get my washcloths folded. LOL
I look forward to seeing what you decide to do on your trip in March!
Thanks for the good wishes on my surgery Thursday. I’m trying not to get nervous about it!
I missed you guys, too!!

When we lived in So. Cal, we practically moved into Disneyland. Those were the days! I never did get tired of watching the kids run around with huge smiles on their faces. 🙂 I’m so glad you all got to go to Disneyworld!!!!
I’m off to check out the pics!

I’m so excited that you’re back! It looks so beautiful there. I had forgotten that you were leaving, I almost emailed to make sure that everything was allright. I’m so sorry about the bladder infection, I hope that the recovery is speedy. (((Hugs)))

Great photos! Loved the series of the star wars thing. Must have been a dream! I am just waiting for my 3 year old to be a wee bit older, like 4-5. And then we are so there!-K

Sorry about the stomach thing and infection. But it sounds like a great trip anyway. My kids’ favorite park, surprisingly, was Epcot! They were only 4 and 7 at the time. I loved the fireworks so much, all of it really.

Welcome back, of course.
YOu’ve received some love at OLM if you’d care to pick it up.
